Honors courses provide ample opportunity to engage intellectual challenges with a peer group of interested and committed students. These courses require students to excel in coursework that goes beyond the University’s standard curriculum in each of four areas, or ‘pillars’ of excellence:
- Students’ work is expected to be of greater significance.
- Students’ course work is expected to exceed the quality expected in a standard course.
- Students’ are expected to study their course work in greater depth.
- Faculty engage with students and their work at a deeper level.
In Honors courses, students are expected to learn autonomously, think critically and creatively, and deepen their understanding of the local and global community. For a current list of courses offered, visit our ‘Courses‘ page.
