This week, the Ferris Community Band will be holding its final summer concert. The concert will take place on Wednesday, July 5th at the Big Rapids Band Shell (River walk at Hemlock Park, behind Big Rapids Middle School). The rain location will be Big Rapids First United Methodist Church at 304 Elm St.

About the Concerts

For its 6th and final concert of its 52nd Annual Concert Season, the Ferris Community Summer Band extends the 4th of July Weekend by one day, with lots of patriotic American music for the occasion, including a salute to all American Veterans, American folk tunes, music from Hollywood, and of course American marches, including the classic The Stars and Stripes Forever march.

This week’s concert features four of the band’s musicians as solo artists: Shaunna Baker (vocals), Tony Weglarz (clarinet), Sarah Massey (violin), and Ed Mallett (euphonium). Ferris’s President David Eisler will also be featured as guest conductor.
