Service Story: Emily Pietrowicz and ARC

Serving the community is something that I am very passionate about, and when I got to Ferris I looked for organizations that I was interesting in becoming involved in. One of the student organizations that I am a member of, Pet Savers, allowed me to combine my love of animals with my desire to serve; I began volunteering for the Animal Rescue Coalition (ARC) of Big Rapids as soon as it opened this past October. Currently, I work two shifts per week. Caring for the animals at ARC has become an outlet for me to take a break from my busy school life while building my resume and networking with other students and community members who share my interests; it’s a great way to be involved and have fun.
