Olivia Adams, a student in the public relations program, is currently interning for the 500 Festival in Indianapolis, IN.
Adams discovered public relations while attending Aquinas College as an art and business major. After learning about the public relations industry, she knew she had found her calling and enrolled in the program at Ferris State. Adams enjoys the different aspects of working with people, event planning, and social media.
While searching for internships, Adams came across an opportunity at the 500 Festival. The 500 Festival is a non-profit organization that helps celebrate the Indianapolis 500, which is the most important race of Indy Car racing. This organization also hosts the nation’s largest half-marathon with more than 35,000 participants each year.
“I am getting the PR experience I’ve always wanted! This internship has definitely solidified everything I have learned in the classroom thus far. I’ve also learned a lot that isn’t taught in the classroom,” said Adams.
