The American Rhodes Scholarship is one of the most competitive scholarships for American students. It supports postgraduate study at Oxford in any field. Frank Aydelotte, who is often credited with promoting the idea of Honors programs in the US was a Rhodes Scholar. As was Bill Clinton.
There are a huge number of notable Rhodes alumni, including Alain Locke, Harlem Renaissance Poet, J. William Fulbright, originator of the Fulbright program, and many more. Wikipedia has a page of Rhodes Scholars that might be interesting.
If you are interested in pursuing a Rhodes Scholarship, we ought to start preparing a year or two in advance. Please get in touch with the Honors advisor early–like in your 1st year– and we can help you prepare.
