Dr. Pasquale Di Raddo, Professor of Organic Chemistry, will be presenting a Lunch and Learn event on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 11:00am in the Honors Conference Room, PIC 142C on “20th Century Cartoon Imagery of African-Americans”. This lecture will survey the evolution of cartoon imagery of African-Americans from the mid-19th century to the present, with an emphasis on racist stereotypes of the day.
Dr. Di Raddo has recently published an article on the use of comics for the teaching of chemistry laboratory safety. He has regularly given lectures to Honors students for the Lunch and Learn Program which have proven to be very popular and highly attended. He is the recipient of the University’s 2006 Distinguished Teacher Award.
