Share some Jet’s Pizza and pop with Professor Sandy Alspach as she presents a Lunch and Learn on the new interdisciplinary program in Sports Communication. The program began with a pilot offering of COMM 389 Sports Communication in Spring, 11 and that course has reached it’s “cap” of 25 students in the first weeks of early registration in each of its three offerings. The program allows students to “count” courses from four different Colleges towards a major, a minor or a certificate in Sports Communication. The COMM 389 course is project based, working with the Athletic Department. The program also hosts Sports Careers RSO’s. This group has adopted Area 5 Special Olympics for its service and earned over $400 at the Special Olympics basketball game which mixes Ferris men and women basketball players with Area 5 Special Olympians who love to don the “Crimson and Gold” and shoot hoops with the teams.
This event will be held on Tuesday, February 18 @ 11:00AM in the Honors Conference Room, PIC 142C. To RSVP, please contact gosss@ferris.edu before noon on Feb. 17.
