On February 5, 2014 students and the Big Rapids community came together for an evening enjoying the arts. The Seventh Annual Honors Program Art Show was held in the IRC Connector with a record setting number of participants submitting their artistic works from various mediums including charcoal, oil pastels, acrylics, photography and even Etch-A-Sketch art. Honor students let their imagination run wild with artwork that covered a long-board deck, and also a guitar. First-year, Pre-Med. student Amy Jackowski received the “Judges Choice” award for her piece entitled “Trust”. Crowd Favorite was awarded to Alyssa Jenkins, first-year, Pre-Vet. student for her entry “Untitled”.
We would like to extend our thanks to everyone that helped make this event a success including Professor Robert Barnum who served as judge for the event, Psychology major and Honor student Cody Burkhard, who volunteered his talents playing an acoustic guitar during the voting, and especially our extremely talented participants.
