Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Kappa Theta Chapter in collaboration with the Ferris State Student Government Association will be hosting “The Coffin” on Monday, March 24 in SCI 120 from 7-9:00PM. This educational event will cover the rising epidemic of obesity. Obesity related conditions are now some of the leading causes of death in America. The effects of a poor diet, unhealthy habits and lifestyle is a topic that all students can relate to.
There will be a guest speaker, who is a woman that is currently on her weight loss journey. She will be giving her story and providing tips, alternatives and better lifestyle changes. There will be a lot of interactive components of this event from open/forum discussion, games, simulations and more. There will be food and refreshments available and students will have opportunity to win prizes.
One of Zeta Phi Beta’s principles is service. By putting on this event for the students and staff of Ferris State University, we hope to bring awareness to a very big topic and encourage a healthier lifestyle to all. Participants who attend the event will walk away with a new or broaden perspective on this issue and addictions in general.
