Aubree Berg Attends the Indy CC Service Conference

Honors student Aubree Berg, a junior majoring in Graphic Design traveled to Indianapolis, IN over Winter Break this past December which was partially funded by the Honors Program. Below you will find her story, as well as photos from her trip.

“At IndyCC 2014, I had the opportunity to listen to a variety of speakers from around the U.S., attend several concerts by artists such as Switchfoot, Phil Wickham, and Tenth Avenue North, attend various seminars and workshops, and participate in community service events.

By far, my favorite part was the day of outreach I was able to participate in. Real Life of Ferris partnered with Campus Crusade for Christ of CMU and we had the opportunity to venture into some of the worst, most poverty-stricken areas of Indianapolis and deliver care packages to them. It was amazing to see how blessed some of these people were by a simple box containing food and some basic necessities. We had the chance to talk with each of these people and hear their stories and in some cases, we even got the chance to share the gospel with them. I met some amazing people and learned a lot through that experience.

Overall, it was a great chance to bond with my fellow Ferris students as well as students in CRU and similar organizations from all around the midwest. I learned so much and grew even more in my faith through attending this conference. I definitely plan on attending next year as well! “
