Volunteering can lead you down life changing paths. As I experience more and discover what I have to offer the AmeriCorps position here at Ferris, I’m realizing it has a lot to offer me. Networking, traveling, and freedom to create my own work are just a few perks of the volunteer position. I have become more educated on Nonprofits and I think it’s valuable for everyone thinking about their career path to understand that Nonprofits can be a valid and valuable career choice. Life is about more than a paycheck, making meaning out of what you do can be worth way more than a job that pays six figures. So don’t just make your choices based on the dollar value of a position, consider the happiness and accomplishment of the career.
