Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a time to celebrate equality and civil rights. Dr. King represents an important figure, who fought against inequality and violence. Remembering the struggle fought to get civil rights is an important means to help improve the equality of today. Today is also a day ripe for service. Many national service organizations promote service to celebrate MLK Day. Service, especially service related to equality and remembering Dr. King’s work, can be found all around campus.

Please consider looking for service opportunities today in whatever you are passionate about and participate in the many MLK Day activities sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Student Services (OMSS). OMSS will be hosting events all week in celebrating this important figure in history.
