MNA Civic Engagement AmeriCorps VISTA Program

If you have loved your service opportunities and want to further explore work that keeps you engaged with the world and serving the greater good, AmeriCorps*VISTA might be a great opportunity for you.

AmeriCorps*VISTA is a government program that gives committed individuals the chance to serve a community full-time for 12 months by supporting local organizations in their mission of poverty alleviation. VISTA members receive a living allowance and many other great benefits as part of their service. We’re looking for candidates who can commit to full-time service in a Michigan community, are adaptable, ready to learn, and passionate about helping those around them.

More information is available here.

The Volunteer Center will be hosting a VISTA at Ferris for the next year. If you want to know more about possibly working with the Ferris State and Big Rapids Community organizations, contact Michele Albright, by calling 231-591-2683 or via email: MicheleAlbright@ferris.edu.

VISTA is a great program for gaining valuable real world experience before you apply for jobs/graduate school and could even lead you to a career.

Please feel free to reach out to me, Jake Pollock, to hear more about the VISTA experience. Contact me via email at honorsvista@ferris.edu.
