Honors Program at Ferris State University

Volunteers Needed for Chippewa Watershed Conservancy Day of Service and Learning

We are still in need of volunteers for the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy Day of Service and Learning. This is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow honors students and earn service hours while making a difference in the community.

Peterson Natural Area is located just 8 miles out of Big Rapids. The preserve is managed by the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy with an office located in Mount Pleasant. The preserve is in need of some maintenance and the trails could use some care. Student volunteers will be removing an old fence and maintaining a few trails on the property to provide a better outdoor experience for guests to the area.

This event is part of the 2015 Day of Service & Learning; a project started in 2014 by the Honors Program, that provides as many students as possible with a meaningful service opportunity at the start of the year. This project also provided the community with valuable help and support from Ferris. Please check out all opportunities and sign up on OrgSync. To get credit for your service hours please complete the survey for the event and log your hours.

This event will take place Saturday, September 19th from 9:30am till 12:00pm at 11 Mile Rd. Stanwood, MI 49346. To sign up click here!
