“Beyond: Globalization” at Ferris State University will be holding their annual MINDS Aflame event on September 29th from 5:30pm till 8:30pm in the Williams Auditorium. This event is similar to a TED Talk and it will include 9 presenters who speak for about 12 minutes each. This speaker series is a great way for students to finish their Cultural Event requirement as each hour of this event counts as one Cultural Event.

The final speaker of the first hour will be Ferris’s Provost, Dr. Paul Blake. Dr. Blake earned his Ph.D. in English from Michigan State University, a master’s degree in English from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and a BA in English from MSU. He is also a graduate of the Management Development Program at Harvard University Graduate School of Education.

Dr. Blake’s presentation for the MINDS Aflame Speaker Series will cover how globalization is present at Ferris State University in his presentation entitled “Impact of Globalization at Ferris.” “With his considerable experience and record of accomplishment at Ferris, Paul Blake has a unique perspective of the university’s strengths, as well as an understanding of the challenges facing higher education and our university,” Ferris President David Eisler said. “As a scholar, teacher, and leader, Dr. Blake has been an integral part of building Ferris’ academic standards and diverse educational programs. He brings to his leadershup at Ferris both a sense of continuity and an appreciation for the need to continually innovate.”
