Cultural Event: Latin@ Heritage “Testimonios – Culture Identity and Success”

In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15), the Office of Multicultural Student Services seeks to create a collaborative lineup of events that promote the contributions of Hispanic Americans to our society and the diversity of the culture. Events are free and open to the public and are a great way to satisfy your cultural event requirements. Events will run from September 22nd to November 2nd.

The third event in this event series will be a “testimonios” entitled “Culture Identity & Success.” This event will be held on Monday, September 28th from 4:30pm till 6:30pm in University Center 202C. Below is a description of what topics this event will cover.

Please join us for a night of food, conversation and entertainment as we welcome Interim Executive Director of Adelante U.S. Education Leadership Fund, Maximo Anguiano and Hip Hop Artist and community activist OLMECA to campus.  We’ll explore the role of cultural identity in education, talk about educational resources and opportunities, and engage in conversations of struggle, resilience, diversity and hip hop.
