This year the International Office is putting on a series of events known as “Global Village.” The idea of these events is to pair incoming American freshman with incoming international students in groups of 5 to 6  to host themed events at the end of the semester to raise awareness about studying abroad and exploring the world. Groups will work together and meet once a month throughout the semester with an RSO to create and host themed events. In order to make this event series successful, student volunteers are needed to participate. This event is a great way for students to get involved in a meaningful way around campus and participates will earn 15 volunteer hours for the semester. Some of the countries the international students come from include: Egypt, Vietnam, Germany, France, South Korea, Bahamas, Japan, Iran, and the Netherlands.

The first event of the semester will be a presentation given by our Vietnamese international students. The event will take place on Friday, October 3rd but there is still time to volunteer to help! If you are interested in Vietnamese culture or would just like to help out make sure to contact Steve Sipos as soon as possible at or call at 513-390-3100. You can also contact him with any questions or if you would like to participate with students from one of the other countries listed above.
