Service Opportunity: Volunteers for Big Rapids Rocket Football Program

Big Rapids Rocket Football Program is looking for honors students to volunteer and help out at their football games. The program is a not for profit working with children from 8 to 14 years old. Parents usually help out at the games and, therefore, end up missing their children playing so the program would love to have some students come and work instead.

The Program will need help on Wednesday evenings from 5:00pm till 9:00pm and Saturday mornings from 8:00am till 5:00pm. The time on Saturday will vary depending on the last game. Students will help with admission sales, working on the field moving the marker chains at the yard lines, cleaning up around the grounds before and after games in lawn and bleacher area, as well as working concessions and announcing during the game. They would also be interested in having people sing the National Anthem before the games if anyone is a singer.

Below is a list of dates when they will be looking for help:

Wednesday, October 7th from 5-8pm at Big Rapids High School Field

Wednesday, October 21st from 5-8pm at Big Rapids High School Field

*Saturday, October 3rd from 8am-5pm at Big Rapids High School Game Field

*Saturday, October 10th from 8am-5pm at FSU Top Taggart Field

*Saturday, October 17th from 8am-5pm at Big Rapids High School Field

*Saturday, October 24th from 8am-5pm at Big Rapids High School Field

*All Saturday times may vary as season proceeds. Please call to check times before coming by to help.
