Cultural Event: Latin@ Heritage “Dia De Los Muertos”

In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15), the Office of Multicultural Student Services seeks to create a collaborative lineup of events that promote the contributions of Hispanic Americans to our society and the diversity of the culture. Events are free and open to the public and are a great way to satisfy your cultural event requirements. Events will run from September 22nd to November 2nd.

The last event in this series is “Dia De Los Muertos” and it will be held in the West Campus Community Center from 10:00am till 2:00pm on Monday, November 2nd. This event will be hosted by the Center for Latin@ Studies, the Office of Multicultural Student Services, and the Spanish Department. Below is a short description of the event.

“Dia de Muertos is a Mexican holiday celebrated and acknowledged around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey. Attendees will learn about the significance of the celebration as well as participate in the creation of the Alter with guest artists.”
