Nationally Competitive Scholarships

Deadlines are approaching for prestigious, nationally-competitive scholarships. In the past, Honors students from Ferris have been awarded significant scholarships. Specifically, In the past several years two of our students have been awarded the William Jefferson Clinton Scholarship to visit the American University in Dubai. We welcome the opportunity to help you prepare and apply. Here are some examples of scholarships currently available to our students. If you have any questions please stop by the office and set up an appointment with the Advisor.

The Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship:

For Juniors, or Graduate candidates. Up to $37,500 annually for tuition, room and board, books, mandatory fees and some travel expenses for the senior year of undergraduate studies, and first year of a master’s degree in fields related to the Foreign Service such as business administration, economics, public policy, international affairs, and other relevant fields.

Funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, the 2016 Thomas R. Pickering Fellowship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students with financial support, mentoring and professional development to prepare them academically and professionally for a career in the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service. Women, members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, and students with financial need are encouraged to apply.

The William Jefferson Clinton Scholarship:

The William Jefferson Clinton Scholarship at the American University in Dubai seeks to further the goals of the Clinton Presidential Foundation to strengthen the capacity of people in the United States and throughout the world to meet the challenges of global interdependence. In partnership with the American University in Dubai, the program will provide American students based in the US the opportunity to expand their educational and cultural horizons by studying in the Arab world.

The James Madison Foundation Scholarship:

The James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation offers $24,000 James Madison Graduate Fellowships to individuals desiring to become outstanding teachers of the American Constitution at the secondary school level. Fellowship applicants compete only against other applicants from the states of their legal residence. As funding permits, the Foundation plans to offer one fellowship per state per year

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship:

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program was established by Congress in 1986 to honor Senator Barry Goldwater, who served his country for 56 years as a soldier and statesman, including 30 years of service in the U.S. Senate. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarships to college students who intend to pursue research careers in these fields.The awards will be made to students  who will be college juniors and those who will be college seniors in the 2016–2017 academic year—who have outstanding potential and intend to pursue research careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering.
