If you are a morning person, who likes to get up to watch the sun rise, you will be in for a treat starting tomorrow, Wednesday, January 20th. Until February 20th, five planets will be visible to the naked eye during the predawn hours in the southern sky. These planets will be lined up in a diagonal line from right to left: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. The stars Antares and Spica will also be strongly visible. This phenomena has not occurred since 2005 so don’t miss it!

If you do not feel like standing outside on these cold winter mornings, you might also have a chance to see these planets line up from about August 13th till August 19th. Although, Mercury and Venus will be harder to spot.

Enjoy the show everyone!
