Kazan’s demographics is mostly ethnic Russians and Tatars, and the predominant religions represented there are almost 47% Sunni Islam and 47% Easter Orthodox Christianity, in addition to Catholicism, Protestantism, and Judaism. Four faculty from Ferris State University traveled to Kazan in November 2015 and experienced the ways in which these various cultures and beliefs lived together in tolerance and peace.
