Emily Pietrowicz
Graduate May 2014
B.S. in Biology
Honors alumna, Emily Pietrowicz, was a dedicated community contributor and leader during her time in the Honors Program. Emily served as president of FSUbuntu (Future Scholars Ubuntu), a registered student organization dedicated to advancing global opportunities for Ferris students, including internationally competitive scholarships. Under her leadership, FSUbuntu hosted its first community soccer tournament and launched the “We Are One – One World Futbol” campaign to raise money to buy nearly indestructible soccer balls for youth in disadvantaged communities.
“Ultimately, these soccer balls are used as a platform for peace-building and global awareness,” Emily said.
Emily, who graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, tallied a remarkable 247 service hours, mostly for the Animal Rescue Coalition of Mecosta County. Emily’s contribution to community service and leadership also earned her an Honors Leadership Stole. Her leadership and commitment to service will serve her well as she continues her education in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University.
