Cultural Event: Women in Engineering Technology Fields

Ms. Debra Kimberling, fellow of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) in California and Mechanical Engineer at Solar Turbines, will be traveling HERE to Ferris next month to meet with students. Kimberling will be presenting on Friday, April 22 for a lunch and learn from 12-1:30pm in the UC Room 217.

She graciously accepted our invitation to visit campus because she is incredibly passionate about encouraging women to persist in engineering technology fields and find success. As a national speaker on this topic, she has presented to nearly 3000 people. Through her work with SWE, she progressed to the section President on the International Board of Directors and is a member of the editorial board for SWE magazine. NOt only does she work as an engineer, but she also manages to serve as the Advocacy Director for SWE-San Diego! Ms. Kimberling is also recognized for developing unmanned submersible systems and is a Certified Navy Civilian Diver in order to conduct research.

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to so that they have an accurate lunch count.
