Cultural Event: Anatomy of Pre-Med

The Biology Department and Pre-Med/Pre-PA Club are hosting and information session event entitled “Anatomy of Pre-Med” on Wednesday, April 6th from 6-8pm in Starr 136. Students in any major are welcome to come to this free event and pizza will be provided.

The event is split into two parts. The first part, which runs from 6-7pm, is entitled “Navigating the Pre-Med Years” and will include a panel of senior pre-med students, 2nd-year medical students, and Dr. Mike Ryan. They will discuss topics such as if pre-med is right for you, timeline of pre-med years, community and healthcare opportunities, preparing for the MCAT, applying for medical school, and will end with an audience Q&A session. Part 2 of the event, which runs from 7-8pm, is entitled “Physician Panel Q&A” and three local physicians will share their experiences as well as answer questions about what it is like to be a medical student, a resident, and a physician.
