Our very own Honors student, Justin Wolber, will be hosting a Lunch and Learn on Thursday, April 28th entitled “Take the Pledge to Step Up.” During his presentation, Justin will discuss what the Step Up program is an how you can get involved. Below is a short description of what his Lunch and Learn will cover.
“Step Up is a prosocial behavior and bystander intervention program that educated students to be proactive in helping others. They focus on explaining the bystander effect, reviewing relevant research and teaching skills for intervening successfully using the 5 Decision making steps, combined with the S.E.E. Model for effective helping. The goal is to change the attitude and behaviors of the community here at Ferris with the hope of creating a safe environment for everyone. College students face many challenges today and if we can create an environment where students become leaders and intervene to help each other out, then we have succeeded. So please come, learn what Step Up is all about and take the pledge to Step UP.”
