Do you want to be an integral part of the largest student run philanthropy event in the State of Michigan? Student Government and The BIG Event are looking for students who are interested in joining the 2017 team as coordinators. Below are the positions available:
Housing Outreach Coordinator
The housing coordinator oversees the housing evaluations process. They also handle all housing forms, and are responsible for jobsite recruitment. Housing evaluations consist of visiting each home participating in the Big Event to assess the work requested and the number of volunteers that will be needed. The Housing Coordinator is also responsible for fielding resident phone calls/
Operations Coordinator
The operations coordinator oversees the members of the operations committee. The operation committee conducts and keeps inventory of tools and supplies in order to complete tool projections. They also organize and facilitate tool distribution the day of. The operations coordinator and committee often work with the housing coordinator and committee to recruit homes within the Big Rapids community.
Volunteer Coordinator
The volunteer coordinator oversees the members of the volunteer committee. The volunteer committee holds volunteer meetings, inputs volunteer information into the system and organizes volunteer check in. The volunteer coordinator and committee members assign each volunteer group to the homes they will be working at.
Public Relations Coordinator
The public relations coordinator oversees the members of the public relations committee. The public relations committee organizes and facilitates all aspects of the Big Event advertising and promotions. This often includes newspaper, radio, and TV advertisements, posters, promotional events and tables. The Big Event team and Student Government provide input for the coordinator and committee to use.
Programs Coordinator
The programs coordinator oversees the members of the programs committee. The programs committee organizes day of details such as catering and the opening ceremony with the director. Members of the programs committee alongside of the coordinator often assist the Big Event Director with sponsorship details.
Database Coordinator
The coordinator oversees the housing database. They are responsible for inputting all jobsite applications into the database, and overseeing the transfer of data from the digital housing evaluations to the database. They are also responsible for delegating housing evaluation assignments, and for assisting in matching volunteer groups with jobsites.
