Lunch and Learn: “Calm Body, Clear Mind: A Mindful Approach to Life and Living”

George Nagel will be hosting a Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, September 13th entitled “Calm Body, Clear Mind: A Mindful Approach to Life and Living.” During his presentation, George will discuss what mindfulness is and how it works. Below is a short description of what this Lunch & Learn will cover.

“Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, to the present moment, moment by moment. It is paying attention to what we are doing or whom we are communicating without drifting into thought and losing unfolding of the present. It is not NOT thinking. Rather, it is being in the moment with what is in front of us and not getting lost in thought. It is paying attention and noticing thoughts when they arise, and continuing to pay attention. The thoughts become information and not interference. The consequences are obvious for both our performance and our relationships. During the presentation, you will learn 1.) how to be mindful, stay mindful and become more mindful 2.) how to recognize mindfulness and choose mindfulness and 3.) to develop calm and clarity in important tasks. We will view and discuss videos about mindfulness and participate in activities that teach mindfulness.”
