Lunch and Learn: “What is Public Health?”

Professor Fathima Wakeel will be presenting a Lunch and Learn on Thursday, September 29th entitled “What is Public Health?” During her Lunch and Learn, Professor Wakeel will discuss Ferris State University’s new Public Health Program. Below is a description of Professor Wakeel’s Lunch and Learn.

“In this session, I [Wakeel] will introduce students to the dynamic and rewarding field of Public Health and acquaint them with the new Public Health program here at Ferris State University. Specifically, I will be discussing the following topics:

1.) Five domains of public health, skill sets needed for each one, and job prospects for each one

2.) Interdisciplinary nature of public health

3.) Bachelors of Science in Public Health (BSPH) program at FSU

4.) Masters of Public Health (MPH) program at FSU

5.) Public Health minor at FSU”

To learn more about FSU’s Public Health programs and ask questions, please join us for the Lunch and Learn on Thursday, September 29th from 11:00am till 11:50am in Pickell’s Conference Room. As usual, pizza from Jets pizza will be provided for those who sign up beforehand. Please make sure to sign-up before noon on Wednesday September 28th by emailing .
