Russian Study Abroad Story

Honors student, Hannah Lamberg, had the opportunity to study abroad in Russia during the summer of 2015. Below is Hannah’s description of the trip as well as her favorite pictures. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Hannah!

“I traveled to Russia for a short-term study abroad trip during the summer of 2015. I took English 321 and Literature 241 while abroad. Traveling is something that I have always been passionate about. I am very grateful for the opportunity I had to combine traveling with my education.

My literature course allowed me to learn about the culture in Russia. I also learned a lot about Russia’s history, royal families and czars. My English course made me think about the places I went more deeply and reflect on those experiences. I wrote about the places I visited in Moscow and how many of them demonstrated both the old and new culture of Russia. Overall, I would say that what I gained in Russia in two weeks far exceeded what I would have learned in a course over a whole semester.”
