Cultural Event: Literature in Person, Marcus Wicker

As part of the Literature in Person Series, sponsored by the Department of Literature and the Diversity and Inclusion Office, Marcus Wicker will be speaking on Friday, September 30th from 7:00-8:00pm on IRC 120. Marcus Wicker is a visiting professor at Michigan State University and poetry editor of Southern Indiana Review. Wicker is the author of Maybe the Saddest Thing (Harper Perennial), National Poetry Series winner and NAACP Image Award finalist. He is the recipient of a Ruth Lilly Fellowship, Pushcart Prize, as well as fellowships from Cave Canem, and The Fine Arts Work Center. Wicker’s work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Nation, Poetry, American Poetry Review, Oxford America, Boston Review, and many other magazines.  His second book, Silencer, is forthcoming from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2017.
