Cultural Event: Change Comes to Washington, from Politics to the Federal Reserve

October 3, 2016 · by · in Announcements, Community Event, Cultural Event, Current Students, Ferris, Opportunities. ·

The Political Engagement Project, Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning, and Lerner, Csernai, and Fath Financial Group will be hosting a guest speaker on Monday, October 10th from 5:30-7:00pm in Williams Auditorium. Guest speaker Gregory Valliere will present a talk entitled “Change Comes to Washington, from Politics to the Federal Reserve.” The presentation is free and refreshments will be served.

Greg is the Chief Global Strategist at Horizon Investments. With over three decades of experience, he brings a unique perspective to the Horizon — analyzing policy and politics, and their impact on the markets. A graduate of George Washington University, Greg co-founded The Washington Forum, which linked Wall Street with Washington. Greg subsqeuently held several positions, including Director of Research at the Charles Schwab Washington Research Group. Greg specializes in coverage of the Federal Reserve, economic policy and — of course — politics. He is a frequent guest of CNBC, Bloomberg TV and radio, CNN, Fox Business News, and CBS radio. Greg is frequently quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and The New York Times. Greg is a member of the Conference of Business Economists and holds a Series 7 license. He and his wife Mary live in downtown DC at the Watergate.

During his presentation, Greg will share insights on a number of key issues and ideas being discussed today including markets and Washington, the 2016 Presidential election, a handful of post-election themes, and tax reform and repatriation. This will be a fast-paced, engaging, entertaining, and highly informative presentation.
