Cultural Event: Latin@ Heritage – Canvas Art Painting

The Office of Multicultural Student Services (OMSS) in collaboration with the Center for Latin@ Studies, Spanish Department, Hispanic Student Organization, and the Spanish Club is putting on the 2016 Latin@ Heritage Celebration! This series of events are hosted annually in commemoration of national Hispanic Heritage Month (observed September 15-October 15) which aims to recognize the societal contributions of Hispanic/Latina/o Americans.

OMSS will be hosting “Canvas Art Painting” as part of the Latin@ Heritage Celebration on Wednesday, October 12th in the West Campus Community Center. Participants will be able to paint a canvas from groundbreaking historic Latin@ artists such as Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, and Goya. Participants will also recieved biographies and the historical importance of each piece they paint. There will be two sessions: one from 5:00-6:30pm and the other 7:00-8:30pm. There are 50 seats available for each session so signing up ahead of time is encouraged by visiting the OMSS in FLITE 159.
