The Tenth Annual Honors Art Show will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017, in conjunction with the Big Rapids Festival of the Arts. The Honors art pieces will be displayed either in the Founder’s Room in the UC or in the Honors Halls. The theme of this year’s show is “Groundhog’s Day.” Since the show will be hosted on Groundhog’s Day, we will offer extra points to those who adhere to the theme. This theme is a fun way to display your creativity without being a full fledged art student. Students of ANY major can submit pieces and participation counts as a cultural event.

Submissions from Honors students can adhere to this theme or not and all forms of art may be entered such as photographs, sculptures, drawings, quilts, knitting, and paintings; let your imagination run free!  Judge’s Choice will receive $50 worth of gift certificates and Crowd favorite will receive $50 as well. Your artwork will also be displayed in the Lobbies of the Honors Halls after the show.

Please let us know if you plan on participating by emailing the following information to honors@ferris.edu by January 13, 2017.

  • Your Name and Email
  • What you are submitting (painting, 3D model, sculpture, etc.)
  • Title of project (will need by January, 23, 2017)
  • How many pieces you are entering (Two submissions are allowed per student)
  • Explain your work with a brief artist’s statement (will need by January 23, 2017)
