Education: BA in French and English and PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Michigan
Cool undergraduate learning experience: During my year in France, I had a eureka moment studying a prose poem by Rimbaud for one of my classes. I found an elaborate, meaningful letter pattern and later published an article about it.
Favorite concert experiences: Aretha Franklin, BB King, and a performance of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.
Other music I like: I listen to all types of music, including rap and opera, but I play the indie folk musician Sufjan Stevens most often.
