Honors Program at Ferris State University

Good Citizenship

I write to you today to talk about the election. The election of Donald Trump has emboldened elements in our society who are dedicated to spreading hate and intolerance.

Our program is *our* program — it belongs to all honors students. No honors student shall be made to feel unwelcome in our program.

The student handbook says that “a student may be dismissed from the program when they fail to maintain a record of good citizenship.” Actions that harass or intimidate others — that make others feel unwelcome and alien — are not actions of good citizenship.

I call on *all* Honors students to make others feel comfortable and confident here. Together, we can make this a truly supportive educational environment.

Sincerely,

Dr. Peter Bradley | Director of the Honors Program
