Humanity in Action Fellowship

Humanity in Action is launching a new fellowship program for emerging leaders in Detroit and the state of Michigan. Since 1997, Humanity in Action has sponsored and organized fellowships on diversity and civic engagement across the United States and in Europe. They are delighted to work with some of Detroit’s leading civic organizations to establish the Detroit Fellowship, beginning in July 2017. The fellowship will take place from July 8th to August 3rd in Detroit, MI.

The Humanity in Action Fellowship in Detroit will explore the biography of Detroit – a city deeply emblematic of the tensions of massive economic and cultural change in 20th and 21st century America. The program will place special emphasis on democratic inclusion of marginalized groups, equitable development, social entrepreneurship and public health. Fellows will gain access to Humanity in Action’s international network and a range of professional opportunities with the U.S. Congress, the NAACP, the ACLU and others.

Candidates should show dedication to contribute to Detroit’s future and an interest in community development, entrepreneurship and/or public health. They are seeking applications from promising young professionals and students from Detroit and from elsewhere in Michigan to join their inaugural fellowship. The application deadline is February 28th. For more information or to apply, please click here.
