Cultural Event: Insta-past – Timeless Images in the Age of Social Media

The Festival of the Arts will be holding their first ‘Brown Bag Lunch’ of the festival on Friday, February 10th at 12:00pm at Artworks. Brown bag lunches originated as a means of conducting employee training during the lunch hour but have since become any opportunity for people to get our of their routine of the day for an hour to nourish the body and mind. In that spirit, Artworks is offering Brown Bag Lunches. Each will be held in the Chemical Bank lower level Gallery at Artworks.

The second speaker will be Dr. Rachel Foulk on February 10th. She will be presenting “Insta-past: Timeless Images in the Age of Social Media.” This illustrated lecture will explore ways in which many of the images we share on social media are inspired by traditional images in the history of art.
