Lunch and Learn: “Psychopaths and Anti Social Behavior”

Psychology Professor, Felix Smith, will be hosting a Lunch & Learn on Thursday, February 16th entitled, “Psychopaths and Anti Social Behavior.” During his presentation, Dr. Smith will define psychopaths and explain what makes for antisocial behavior. Below is a short description of his presentation:

“Psychopathy and anti-sociality are areas that are costly to society. This cost comes in the form of both the justice system and the damage that they can perform on individual people. Not all psychopaths are directly murderous, many a simply self serving or exploitative. In this presentation, I [Felix Smith] will provide an overview of how we define psychopathy (in terms of diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders and the work of Hare and others), what we know about the underlying conditions, and how common psychopathy is.”
