The Grand Rapids Symphony, under the baton of Maestro John Varineau, returns once again to the Festival of the Arts, this time featuring GRS percussionist David Hall in a concerto for solo marimba and orchestra. They will be performing in the Big Rapids High School Auditorium at 4:00pm on Sunday, February 19th. The Grand Rapids Symphony is recognized as one of the premiere regional orchestras in the United States and, fittingly, David Hall is recognized as one of the finest marimbists in the world. The program will include Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, Dvorak’s Carnival Overture, Brahms’ Tragic Overture, Alexander Miller’s Fireworks, and Ney Rosauro’s Concerto No. 1 for Marimba. Coma and enjoy an afternoon of exceptional music, presented by exceptional musicians.
