As a part of the Festival of the Arts, storyteller Al Bryant will be presenting “The Mystery of Lizzie Borden” on Wednesday, February 22nd from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Big Rapids Community Library. Below is a description of the event.
“In 1893, Lizzie Borden was acquitted of the ‘crime of the century’ (19th century that is), accused of murdering her father and stepmother in their Fall River, Massachusetts home. While suspicions circulated, another individual was never convicted of the double homicide. Since then, the question of Lizzie Borden’s innocence has persisted. Al Bryant, a longtime scholar and distant relative of Lizzie Borden has plumbed sources to offer this gruesome introduction to family management and perhaps how she got away with murder.”
