Cultural Event: Tai Chi – Health and Martial Art

The Festival of the Arts will be holding their last ‘Brown Bag Lunch’ of the festival on Friday, February 24th at 12:00pm at Artworks. Brown bag lunches originated as a means of conducting employee training during the lunch hour but have since become any opportunity for people to get our of their routine of the day for an hour to nourish the body and mind. In that spirit, Artworks is offering Brown Bag Lunches. Each will be held in the Chemical Bank lower level Gallery at Artworks.

The last speaker will be Mary Loesch. She will be presenting “Tai Chi: Health and Martial Art.” Tai Chi has its roots deep in China’s past, practices as both a martial art and a method to bring calmness to soldiers when not at war. Today it is popular for stress reduction, balance and resilience.
