This Week’s Days of Service and Learning Opportunities

This week, there will be 3 Days of Service and Learning volunteer projects to take advantage of. Participating in one or more of these events will allow students to get started on their service work for the year as well as gain valuable knowledge and experience through working with our community.

Below are the list of events you can sign up for this week:

  • Our Brother’s KeeperSaturday, September 9th 9:00am to 12:00pm, 405 S 3rd Ave. Big Rapids, MI 49307
    • Our Brother’s Keeper is a shelter that provides temporary housing for the homeless and those looking for safety or a place to stay as they transition into more permanent housing. Student volunteers will clean, sort, and put things in lockers.
  • Clay Cliffs Nature Park – Saturday, September 9th 9:00am to 12:00pm, 111 Hutchinson St, Big Rapids, MI 49307
    • Student volunteers will pick up little at Clay Cliffs Nature Park in Big Rapids. The Honors Program will provide gloves.
  • St. Mary’s Big Rapids Fun FestSunday, September 10th; Shift 1: 9:00am to 1:00pm,  Shift 2: 1:00pm to 4:00pm, 27 Marion Ave. Big Rapids, MI
    • St. Mary’s Catholic school holds a Fun Fest each year that includes a chicken dinner, concessions, carnival games and prizes, inflatable bounce house, children’s crafts, mini raffles, family friendly music by a local DJ, and more. Student volunteers can sign up for either or both shifts.
