Cultural Event and Volunteer Opportunity: Traditional Sturgeon Release

The Muskegon Watershed Assembly will be hosting its Traditional Sturgeon Release FUNdraiser on Saturday, September 23rd from 2:00 to 5:00pm at Ed Henning Park (500 Croton Dr. Newaygo, MI). During the event, here will be a tribal drum ceremony to welcome and release the Sturgeon as well as tell the Sturgeon Story. There will also be Native American foods.

This can also count as service hours as they are looking for volunteers to assist in welcoming guests, direct visitors and set up some tables and chairs.

For more information or to sign-up to volunteer, please contact Julie Chamberlain at or call 231-591-2324.
