Join the nearly 1,000 volunteers who step forward to welcome hundred of thousands of visitors to ArtPrize each fall.
Volunteer positions with Visitor Services can vary from welcoming visitors, providing directions, answering questions, helping in the retail store and promoting activities and venues in your area. Other visitor services positions consist of helping visitors set up their voter registration accounts and complete the registration process.
Volunteer positions related to Education can range from lead docents to facilitators in their drop-in art studio spaces. Some of these positions require a background check, and some additional training. There are also opportunities to get involved with their exhibits team at ArtPrize including public art installation/de-installations, artist events like Link Sessions, and helping as gallery guides in exhibit spaces.
Some volunteer positions with the Educations team may require a background check, but all of the other positions require that you attend an ArtPrize orientation. Orientation is a one-hour training session during the week before ArtPrize. It’s held at several different times so that everyone can attend, including weekday, weeknight, and weekend options from September 20th to October 8th in downtown Grand Rapids. You can sign up for orientation and training sessions the same way you would schedule a shift through your Volunteer Account. All orientation meetings and training sessions are held at the ArtPrize HUB at 41 Sheldon Blvd.
