Call for an Honors Ambassadors 2017

We have two opportunities for Honors students to get involved and take a more active role in the program!

Honors Student Ambassadors – Volunteer opportunity

Do you love the Honors Program at Ferris? Could you use a few extra service hours?

We are looking for a handful of enthusiastic current Honors students to call prospective students who are eligible for the Honors Program but have not yet applied.  We’d like to match prospective students with current students by major to give the clearest picture of what the experience of being an Honors student in that program is like.

You DO NOT need to be an upper classman to participate. If you are a first year student, and you remember the student who called you last year, think about taking on this ‘Ambassador’ role— it is a great way to support the mission of the Honors program while getting some practical experience.

If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the sign up form. For more information, please contact Allegra Damari at or call 231-591-2216.

Honors Ambassador Leader – Paid Position (work study ONLY)

We are also looking for one student with work study to work part time for Honors as an Ambassador Leader. The Honors Ambassador Leader acts as the coordinator of the Honors Ambassadors.  They will be responsible for organizing and tracking the actions of the Honors Ambassadors including initial contact of prospective honors students and ensuring they are guided through the application process. Ambassador leaders will also organize and supervise volunteers during the Honors Invitational. Applicants must be able to effectively communicate the values of the Honors Program as well as Ferris State University. Skills important to this position are communication, being able to work independently, and enthusiasm for the mission of Honors.

If you are interested in this position and have work study, please feel free to apply on the Student Employment page on the Ferris website.
