Lunch and Learn: Townhall Debate

Professor Sandy Alspach will be hosting a Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, October 31st entitled “Townhall Debate.” During her presentation, Professor Alspach will lead a simulated Townhall Debate on the issue of if NFL players ‘taking a knee’ during the National Anthem is supported by the First Amendment of the US Constitution.

Professor Alspach originally presented a Lunch and Learn on when Colin Kaepernick ‘took a knee’ to protest the abuse of black males by white police officers last Fall. With the issue exploding this fall all the way to the White House, she will revisit the topic for this fall’s Lunch and Learn. Students will debate the issue and discuss President Trump’s analysis that the behavior of these NFL players, and the owners who stand with them, is unpatriotic.

To learn more and participate in this debate style Lunch and Learn, please join us on Tuesday, October 31st from 11:00am till 11:50am in Pickell’s Conference Room.
