This January 15th is the National Day of Service where many people volunteer in the community. Below are 5 service opportunities you can get involved in on January 15th.
Angels of Action:
Angels of Action needs volunteers from 10:00am to 3:00pm (though time is flexible to volunteer’s needs) at 210 Maple St. Big Rapids, MI 49307. Volunteers will be responsible for tying no-sew tie blankets and assembling hygiene kits. For more information, please contact the Executive Director, Joni Thompson at or call 734-716-2121.
Mecosta County 4-H:
4-H will need volunteers anytime between 8:30am and 5:00pm at 14485 Northland Dr. Big Rapids, MI 49307. Volunteers will organize and help with a youth program, help with paperwork, and create documents. Remus Area Historical Society:
The Historical Society will need volunteers from 10:00am to 3:00pm to help with cleaning, filing, sorting, organizing, and helping with displays. For more information please contact Dawn Snyder at or call 989-561-5469.
Cran-Hill Ranch:
Volunteers are needed between 9:00am and 5:00pm to help with cleaning, shoveling, and help with light maintenance. For more information, please contact Abiah Brown at or call 231-796-7669.
AuCaDo (Animal Protection Shelter) and Rescue:
AuCaDo will need volunteers from 9:00am to 12:00pm to help with socializing with kittens, cats, and dogs as well as helping with cleaning, walking dogs, and more. For more information please contact Monica Larner at or call 989-330-5147.
