As part of the Festival of the Arts, Stephen Ross will be presenting his photographic journey entitled “Wood Frogs and Vernal Ponds” on Monday, February 5th at 7:00pm in the IRC room 120. Have you ever wondered what goes on in those small roadside ponds that are full of noisy spring peepers? There is a fascinating microcosm of life within them. Join local photographer Stephen Ross on a through-the-year trip to several such ponds in Mecosta County. Steve has spent the last ten years photographing the life cycle of the wood frog in these “vernal ponds.” In this presentation, he examines the mating cycle of wood and chorus frogs in photographs and short videos as well as featuring other forms of life within these woodland ponds. How-I-did-it and conversation issues will also be covered.
