The Social Work Association at Ferris State University is sponsoring the production of the “Vagina Monologues” on Thursday, February 8th at 7:00pm in Williams Auditorium. The Vagina Monologues is an Obie Award-winning episodic play written by Eve Ensler. The play introduces a divergent gathering of female voices about a wide range of issues experienced by women all over the world. The monologues cover a wide variety of topics relating to women, delving into consensual and nonconsensual sexual experiences. It includes monologues relating to sexual assault, women who have been raped in wars, body image, sex workers, and birth.
The event will be free to all, thanks to the Student Activity Fund Allocated by the Finance Division of Student Government. Donations may be given at the door for Women’s Information Services (WISE). Ninety percent of the proceeds will go to WISE and ten percent will go back to the V-Day Organization to support the spotlight monologue.
